In August, UNITE-LA’s Education Means Business policy webinar series brought together Assemblymember Mike Fong (AD-49); California Labor and Workforce Development Agency Secretary Stewart Knox; and L.A. Metro's Principal Talent Development Specialist, Tai Alimi, to discuss the state’s new Master Plan for Career Education and its potential impact on education and workforce pathways across the state.
Our speakers shared insights on the development and implementation of the state's Master Plan for Career Education, a bold framework to modernize and align our education and workforce systems to meet the demands of today’s economy. Stressing the importance of connectivity to education institutions, employers and local organizations and governments, our panel shared a vision for the future and next steps to ensure the core concepts of the Plan are funded, sustainable and equitable. More than 190 participants from across sectors joined the conversation, underscoring the broad interest and momentum behind this statewide effort.
If you missed the live session, please watch the recording and view the presentation. We encourage you to share this important conversation with your colleagues and networks.
