Collaborative Workgroups

Track the outcomes of our Workgroups by reading our Workgroup Updates and sign up to receive our L.A. Compact Connection newsletter.

Over time, the L.A. Compact has developed into a mature collective impact initiative with several collaborative workgroups tackling issues along the cradle to career continuum. A key component of the Collective Impact model is the role of the Convener. Each of these workgroups is facilitated by a neutral intermediary that works to build consensus among partners, guide the adoption of new collaborative strategies, support aligned activities across sectors, utilize data for continual improvement and joint accountability for student success, pursue opportunities to leverage resources and new joint funding, and improve policies that directly impact student education and workforce outcomes. In the L.A. Compact's early years, UNITE-LA served as the primary convener of these workgroups. Since 2013, the L.A. Compact has evolved into a multi-convener model, with a constellation of collaboratives supported by different agencies, but still all working towards the L.A. Compact's Five Big Goals.
