L.A. College Promise partners celebrate first cohort at Pierce College event

On July 13, Mayor Eric Garcetti visited Los Angeles Pierce College for an event marking the launch of summer programming for the L.A. College Promise.  He was hosted by college President Dr. Kathleen F. Burke and joined by special guests from the Los Angeles Community College District, Los Angeles Unified School District, and Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.  Pierce College is offering summer transition programs, success coaches, priority registration, and first-year experience programs to participating students.

The L.A. College Promise provides L.A. Unified and charter school graduates with free tuition during their first year of college in conjunction with additional support services to help them graduate.
