The Systems (L.A. Compact) Team is excited to have Jenny Vu as our new Director, Education Systems Strategy, who joined the team in November 2023. In this role, Jenny is supporting multiple education initiatives of the Systems Team, including Community Schools, the L.A. Compact and the L.A. Region K-16 Collaborative.

As a former refugee and first-generation college graduate, Jenny is passionate about utilizing holistic, strengths-based approaches to creating equitable opportunities for underserved communities. With nearly 20 years of program management and leadership experience in L.A.'s nonprofit sector, she has shaped and led the design and implementation of a breadth of dynamic, student-centered programs to advance educational equity, increase higher education, social-emotional learning, and youth development outcomes.

Prior to joining UNITE-LA, Jenny was the Director of Community Schools and College & Career Pathways at the L.A. Education Partnership (LAEP). At LAEP, Jenny built and expanded integrated systems, collaborative structures and innovative tools to increase the fidelity in implementation of community schools and college and career initiatives with K-12 partner schools and local districts.

Jenny holds a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior and a minor in Education from UC Irvine, as well as a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Fun fact: Jenny resides in East Los Angeles and loves all things food, clutter-free organization, and exploring the world with her family.
